Off to new Shores!

After a lovely piece of pastry at a grungy place called Cup a Joe's we headed to the car rental to collect our car. When we got there we were expecting a small SUV and were rather surprised we had been given a monster of an SUV with eight seats, the size of a mini-bus!!! Since there were none of the size we wanted, we took it... it's comfy but way too big and our fear is it will be really hard to park and drink petrol like a piggy eats food 🐷. We went back to the hotel and put our bags in to go to Petaluma: Our first road trip of the 3 months 😀!

Our first stop was the famous Golden Gate Bridge! (I'm not sure why it's called that when it's red... wait a minute, the colour's actually called International Orange! 😮).

It was such a fantastic view! We walked part of it (not all of it because thats around 2 miles! 😅). After we came back from walking a bit of it, we drove over by car which was so nice! Just watching out the window as you float above the sea... *POP* awwww that was a nice daydream! Oh right... you're still here... anyway, so it was super fun crossing the Golden Gate Bridge especially when you look at the arches as they slowly pass right over you! I also remember the immigration officer, who said; "You haven't been to San Francisco if you haven't crossed the Golden Gate Bridge!" Well we have now well and truly been to San Francisco!

A few hours on the highway later we arrived in Petaluma, Sonora, which has starred in many Movies such as Flubber etc. We went to a nice hotel called the 'Metro Hotel" which was very comfy to go back to the hotel. aaaannd I had my own room for once! 💩 After we settled in, we went to check out the town a bit. First we went for an ice-cream, then we just walked about and met a St Bernard dog and his friend a Great Dane! We had a nice chat with the owners and left (I left with a wet face 😛). Petaluma has a really pretty victorian downtown with a river running through it and some nice places to dine
