Hiking up Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh

We've been to beautiful Edinburgh many times, but never made it up it's house mountain, Arthur's Seat.

So we were determined to tackle this hybrid between a hill and a mountain, the remainders of volcanic activity over 300m years ago.

We took the route that goes from the carpark at Holyrood Palace steep up and to the right. It isn't as challenging as some mountains in the Swiss Alps, however it wasn't just a walk in the park either, mainly due to the really harsh wind conditions we encountered (but then again Edinburgh is no stranger to wind).
