Now we could have just copied some tips from other websites here, but we thought it to be more useful if we put our own experiences here, so please bear with us :)
1. In anticipation of mountains of exchange rate related fees on credit card spendings and ATM use abroad we investigated what the best ways to save on this field would be. Looked at many travel credit cards but settled for the MONZO Card, an app based prepaid card so no hassle with identity or credit checks etc.
We haven't left yet but are testing the card in the UK and so far it looks rather impressing. Each spent is acquitted with a popup on the phone, recharging funds onto the card is easy peasy, too.
